🧮 Creamy Layer – Central vs UT Differences
💰 3. What is the Creamy Layer? (Income Rule for OBC)
If you or your family’s income is high, you may fall under the "Creamy Layer", and lose eligibility.
🛑 UT OBC Creamy Layer Rule (Simple Rule)
If your average family income in the last 3 years is more than ₹8 lakh, you are not eligible.
✔️ No other criteria—just check your income over 3 years.
🛑 Central OBC Creamy Layer Rule (Detailed Rule)
Govt. of India excludes these from OBC benefits if:
-
🔸 Family income is more than ₹8 lakh, excluding:
-
Salary
-
Agricultural income
-
-
🔸 Or, if parents are:
-
Group A/Group B officers
-
PSU executives above a certain grade
-
⚠️ You might be in creamy layer even if your income is below ₹8 lakh, if you are in any of these jobs!

💡 That’s why it’s important to get expert help to assess your creamy layer status.
